Madison Stack

senior brand design manager

What was your path to dfine?

I moved to Colorado from the first state, Delaware, after falling in love with the fresh air and mountains, and the spas they contain. I have had experience designing for many different industries, from nonprofits and education, to private aviation and luxury products, to commercial goods. I love creating alongside a tight-knit team of people who transform brands into lasting experiences. Discovering dfine, and their combination of unique, bold design work was a dream come true for me.

How do you “dfine” branding and what it means to you?

The fact that branding can leave an indelible mark on our lives is an extremely powerful notion. Branding can transport, engage, and motivate. It can empower and inspire, long after the interaction is gone. Branding gives voice to our client’s ideas and beliefs, and when used well creates tremendous results, almost like magic.

What is your favorite brand and why?

Anthropologie, and by proxy, Terrain. I not only love how well they turn their brand into an enveloping experience with textures, colors and smells, but how often they push themselves in dismantling and create something new. If I am honest with myself, I mostly go in for the experience and not the clothing. It is like stepping into an art gallery and seeing what new impermanent show they have on display. That’s the mark of a clever brand.

What is it you are happiest doing?

In my personal time, I love to expand my mind and creativity through painting, sculpting, cooking, reading and even furniture building. I am also obsessed with interior and industrial design. I love it when I can combine my hobbies to create experience for friends and family. When I need a boost, there is nothing like a good roast chicken, hot tea and a good book to put a smile on my face.
